You’ll deal with senior experienced consultants who can offer advice and specialist help. This means you benefit from a focussed and intelligent service that leads to successful placements quickly and efficiently.

We are an independent company so we can be flexible how we work with you, whether you need a permanent employee, a freelancer or even someone on a temporary to permanent arrangement.

Gallery Resources is a full member of the REC so we adhere to their standards and are knowledgeable about the ever changing recruitment and employment legislation.

We invest heavily in advertising and in developing and managing our database, which means there’s a good chance we’ll already know a suitable candidate for you so we can act fast.

Our charges

We are competitive in the market and are flexible, offering great value to new and existing clients.

For permanent recruitment you pay an agreed % of the candidate’s starting salary, and there’s a rebate scheme in place. No placement, no fee.

If you take-on a freelancer, contract worker or interim manager you pay us an inclusive daily, hourly, weekly or monthly rate or an agreed commission if you choose to pay the worker yourself.

If you’re uncertain about the duration of a contract or are considering temporary to permanent recruitment we’ll agree charges that meet your individual requirements, allowing flexibility and choice

We can develop unique client-paid campaigns, using our media-buying power to offer excellent value. There is an up-front charge for this service, agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Recruiting a permanent employee

We’ll look at your brief and confirm that we think we’ll be able to help, agreeing fees and how you like us to work – where to send CVs, timescales, etc. If you have the time, we’ll come and meet you, as that helps us to understand the role and your company’s culture and that means we can represent your company effectively to the most suitable candidates.

In most cases we manage all of the interview administration and contact with the candidates, through to agreeing offers and start-dates.

However, we’ll do as much or as little as you want. We don’t impose a rigid process – we appreciate all our clients are different.

For most vacancies our contingency service is appropriate – no placement no fee. We search our database, advertise your role, interview and manage the process at no cost until a successful placement is made.

Sometimes we’ll suggest client-paid advertising where there is an up-front cost, depending on your needs.

Using a freelancer, contract worker or interim manager

When you ask us to find a freelancer, contract worker or interim manager we’ll immediately ask about your timescale, and agree an approach to suit your needs.

For example, if you need an artworker today we’ll work quickly and recommend the best available candidate. If you need an interim manager some months into the future we’ll develop a shortlist for you to interview in plenty of time.

Case Studies

Freelancers

These are candidates on an hourly or daily rate, usually required at short notice to fill an immediate need. Freelancers often work with no fixed timescales, but short-term freelance arrangements can evolve into long-term contracts or permanent placements.

Typical freelance requirements include an artworker or designer for a few days or an account manager or campaign manager for holiday cover.

Freelancers are normally paid through our payroll, or they can invoice you directly if they are already self-employed. Because of the short-term nature of the roles, hourly or daily rates can often be higher than an equivalent permanent salary.

Our regular freelance customers find this to be an invaluable service, allowing them high levels of flexibility and security.

Contract Workers

These are similar to freelancers in many respects but contract workers generally operate on a fixed timescale, typically 3 months and upwards. Contractors can be paid through our payroll, but you could equally use your own payroll with a fixed-term contract.

Typical contract placements include executives or managers to cover maternity leave, people to plug a gap caused by illness or secondments, or even using specific people with a view to a permanent offer.

Contract workers need not be expensive and rates are often based around a pro-rata salary equivalent to that of a permanent member of staff.

Interim Managers

Interim managers are generally senior individuals with specific skills and industry experience. Interim managers are often moving from contract to contract as a career choice, although some interim placements do turn into permanent moves.

Interim managers often work through their own limited companies or use managed limited company arrangements so you don’t need to consider payroll options.

Our clients use interim managers to take-on specific business projects –roles we’ve filled include communications for change management, strategy development projects and covering for senior managers over a period of extended leave.

Interim managers are usually equipped to lead teams and would expect a daily rate that’s higher than an equivalent pro-rata salary.

Legal information for users freelance, contract or interim staff

When using freelance, temporary or interim workers clients are often faced with choices that have implications for matters such as notice, holiday pay, tax and National Insurance.

You need to choose the right option for your circumstances, but it’s not always a clear choice, against a background of changing legislation, regulations and case-law.

Key decisions include whether to use your own payroll or ours, as well as the wording of contracts.

Guidance is available on the HMRC (Inland Revenue) website, but this is unquestionably a difficult area and we are always pleased to give help and advice that’s relevant to your particular situation.

As full members of the REC Gallery Resources has access to the very latest guidance and legal background, and our contracts with candidates are regularly updated to be compliant with the very latest regulations.
